About me

Hello, I’m Sarah Wolstenholme, a qualified therapist and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Sometimes the life you've built no longer feels like it fits who you are. You may be carrying the weight of caring for others, navigating changes in relationships, work, health, parenthood, living with loss, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. Even when life looks manageable on the outside, it can feel very different underneath.

Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what's happening. My approach is warm and collaborative, providing a place where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. Together, we'll look at the patterns, relationships, and life events that may be affecting your wellbeing, confidence, sense of identity, and ability to move forward.

Much of my work focuses on supporting people through life transitions, including bereavement, caring responsibilities, career or relationship changes, and questions of identity and self-worth. I also work with people experiencing anxiety, stress, depression and low self-esteem. My aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked across both the charity and business sectors. That experience gave me a strong understanding of the pressures of balancing work, relationships, caregiving, and everyday responsibilities, and how easy it can be to appear capable while struggling quietly beneath the surface.

I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure you receive safe, professional and compassionate care. As part of my commitment to good practice. I also undertake regular continuing professional development. My qualifications include a Foundation Degree in Counselling ,BA (Hons) in Psychology (with a minor in English Literature) and a MSc in Human Resource Management
