  • Emergency Contact Details

  • Basic demographics: Date of birth, gender, and occupation.

  • Health and medical: Your GP's contact details and any relevant medical history, mental health diagnoses, or medications.

  • Correspondence: Emails and text messages, Information shared during enquiries and therapysessions

‍ ‍I only collect information that is necessary for providing counselling services.

‍ ‍I collect information for the following reasons, to:

‍Respond to enquiries

  • Arrange appointments

  • Provide counselling services

  • Maintain professional records

  • Meet legal, ethical and insurance requirements

  • Safeguard clients where necessary

How Your Information Is Stored

Information is stored securely using password-protected and encrypted systems. Only I have access to your records unless disclosure is required by law or safeguarding responsibilities.

Confidentiality

‍ Everything discussed in counselling is confidential except where:

  • There is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person

  • There are safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult

  • Disclosure is required by law

  • A court orders disclosure

‍Where possible, I will always discuss this with you first.

‍ How Long Records Are Kept

Adult Client records are kept 7 years after therapy ends, Records are then securely destroyed.

Your Rights

‍Under data protection laws (such as the UK GDPR/Data Protection Act), you have the right to request access to the information I hold about you. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of your data, or to limit how I process it. You can learn more about your rights on the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) website.
